Jasenka Zubcevic graduated in 2008 at the University of Bristol, where she obtained her PhD under the joint supervision of Professor Julian FR Paton and Doctor Sergey Kasparov. Following her graduation, Jasenka relocated to Ft. Worth, TX where she worked as a postdoc in the laboratory of the late Doctor Jeffrey T Potts in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of North Texas. After another postdoc spell with Doctor Peter Gruber in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, Jasenka moved to University of Florida. This is Jasenka’s second spell under Professor Raizada’s supervision, as back in 2002 she spent a year here working as a laboratory technician. Jasenka’s research interests primarily lie in the field of autonomic neuroscience and central control of blood pressure, but she is hoping to expand her research to encompass the use of stem cells in cardiovascular therapy.
