Erin B Bruce, Ph.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor
About Erin B Bruce
As a clinical assistant professor, Erin Bruce is focused on teaching future scientists and health professionals the fundamentals of physiology and pathophysiology. While her expertise lies in cardiovascular physiology, she loves to learn and teach every aspect of physiology. The human body is fascinating, and she hopes that her students feel the same by the end of her courses. Bruce is dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable classrooms, whether in person or online. Nurturing diverse perspectives allows us all to create new knowledge in a space empathetic to one another’s lived experiences. She intends to support a learning environment that is respectful of diversity, including but not limited to: values, gender, sexuality, disability (seen or unseen), age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, race, religion, and culture.
She is interested in educational research, especially as it relates to teaching physiology. She is invested in using the latest pedagogical studies to influence her course organization and education style. In turn, she is working to inform her community of what techniques have benefited her classes, as well as identifying areas where peers and her can improve. The more we share with each other, the better we all become.
