The annual 7.2K run around Depot Park and Hawthorne trail raises money to support the Florida Springs Institute. The Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute is an educational non-profit in High Springs dedicated to ensuring the wise management and restoration of Florida Springs and the aquifer that we all depend upon for our water supply.  The Springs Run directly funds FSI’s SpringsWatch citizen science program that provides volunteers with hands-on training in the field.  That “field” is Florida’s beautiful springs!  Volunteers learn all aspects of water quality monitoring and get to know the wildlife and plants that depend on springs systems. Hope to see you out there next year! https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/Gainesville/FirstMagnitudeSpringRun
