The New Techniques in Physiology Fund was established to support research education at the interface between basic biology and clinical medicine.  It is used primarily to provide short-term support for graduate education.  The Department of Physiology and Functional Genomics performs research and training, providing answers that impact human health.  Our research and training uses modern tools of molecular and cellular biology, genetics, computation, and bioengineering to impact Obstetrics and Gynecology and Neonatology (pregnancy, fetal development, premature birth), Medicine/Cardiology/Nephrology (musculoskeletal diseases, kidney disease, obesity/hypertension/metabolic disease), and Psychology/Psychiatry (stress biology). The New Techniques in Physiology Fund plays an important part in the education of the new generation of scientists who will provide solutions to problems of human health.
