Yanfei has been working as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Dr. Raizada’s lab since January 2010. She completed her Ph.D. under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Katovich from the Department of Pharmacodynamics at the University of Florida in December 2009. Yanfei’s dissertational work involved evaluating the cardioprotective effects of Angiotensin-(1-7) and Angiotensin Type 2 receptor (AT2R) and in rat models of myocardial infarction. Presently, she is focusing on studying the role of Angiotensin converting enzyme2 (ACE2) activator and endothelial progenitor cells in myocardial infarction model.
